Seiffen church popular motif for Christmas pyramids
On the one hand, the, famous Seiffen church standing in the middle on a turntable is a popular motif in the Ore Mountains, on the other hand, the shape of the two curved outer arches differs from the often strictly upward-facing ledges. The tea lights, which have been in vogue for some years now, are placed in each of the four corners, on an existing base consisting of a hexagonal disk and a wooden cross. The rising heat from the tea light candles is used to drive an impeller at the top of the Christmas pyramid, so that the turntable can be set in motion. Traditionally, four of the famous Kurrende carol singers with a songbook can be found on the turntable around the Seiffen church. Another singer carries a star and a lantern. The carol singers perform their songs during the Christmas service and delight the people during Advent, when they parade through the village and sing Christmas carols in the houses.
