Wobbly Santa Claus by Christian Ulbricht from Seiffen in the Erzgebirge
Santa Claus plays a major role in the classic folk art of the Erzgebirge in different variations. He stands proudly as a nutcracker in the display case, tobogganing down a slope on a candle arch or spreading Christmas scents as a smoker. He has also been spotted carved or on a music box. It is important, that he does not miss his visit to the children. This wonderfully colorful little Santa Claus as a wobbly man comes by Christian Ulbricht and enchants children in particular with his design.
Wobbly Santa Claus in motion
The Ulbricht company from Seiffen in the Erzgebirge creates these wobbly figures as special figurines of Erzgebirge wood art, as they sway back and forth on their wobbly base when touched slightly. In addition, wobbly figures are friendly fellows with a cheerful face. Santa Claus wears the typical red pointed cap with a white pompom and a fluffy rim with mistletoe attached. The white beard frames the jolly face. Santa Claus is already looking forward to the many presents, that he is allowed to hand out. He carries them with him in a small bag, which is so full, that two small colorful presents stick out. On the left, he holds a little rider firmly in his hand. The jiggly Santa Claus is about 13 cm tall and his coat shines in a fresh green. So he can start his arduous journey to the children and surprise them.
Children love nodding figures
Christian Ulbricht's nodding figures are produced in a whole series and are very popular with children as "gifts". One or two little men also find their place in Advent calendars. Perhaps you will fall in love with another member of this guild, so that Santa doesn't have to be alone.
